Our Mission

Frontline Ukraine 2.jpeg

Frontline Ukraine is a tour company specialising in tours across the entirety of the front line in eastern Ukraine, helping visitors understand the war and the conditions on the front line in Ukraine. Our mission is to provide insightful and educational experiences that shed light on the complex situation in Ukraine, while also offering a unique perspective on the region's history and culture. We are dedicated to delivering exceptional service and ensuring our guests have a deep understanding of the realities of the front line.

We don’t offer holidays; we offer you a profoundly life-changing experience. This is something different from anything you’ve ever done or will do again. You will embark on a trip of discovery to the front lines of a modern war. You’ll be accompanied by experienced operators who take all possible safety precautions, but danger can’t always be avoided.

Your reason for visiting a war may be research, curiosity, journalism, or just to prove something to yourself. You may find yourself drawn to the expat life in Ukraine, working with one of the ad hoc non-governmental organizations, or even joining the International Brigade. Whatever your reason for going, your outlook on life and on Ukraine will be different when you come back.

Each tour is limited to five individuals on a first-come, first-booked basis. You will be accompanied at each step of the way from Canada and throughout Poland and Ukraine by experienced Canadian and British personnel. All travel, meals and lodging will be pre-arranged and included in the price.

Our team will be travelling to places not even reporters are allowed to visit. You’ll visit towns reduced to rubble on the red line and look at Russian positions in the distance. You’ll come to understand what it’s like to live for days with the sound of air raid sirens and hear distant explosions and feel the ever-present tension of living in cities in the orange zone under bomb or missile attack. You’ll feel what it’s like being on the front line, wearing armour, watching for drones and mines, and you’ll experience the surreality and unexpectedness of war.

More importantly you’ll leave with a rich understanding of the war, how Ukrainians feel it, and you’ll come to understand how people try to live normal lives even under the constant threat of danger.

You’ll learn how Ukrainians feel about this war. You’ll visit the Field of Mars, a graveyard with hundreds of new graves from a single Ukrainian city. You’ll meet Ukrainian soldiers and civilians who fight in the shadows, and you’ll talk to people from Canada, the US, and Europe who are in frontline cities helping the Ukrainian war effort. Our team will be travelling without government handlers, so you’ll be able to talk freely with people in the street (download Google translator if you don’t speak Ukrainian). You’ll feel the outpouring of patriotism in the blue and yellow colours of the Ukrainian flag you’ll see everywhere across the east.

After this trip we hope you’ll have a strong sense of what it’s like to exist imminently close to war, as well as a deeper sense of the situation in Ukraine. You will have been closer to front line warfare than most active-duty soldiers in the western world have, and you will be, in a very real sense, a veteran of the first modern symmetrical war of  the 21st century.

Why do we do these tours?

Very effective propaganda is circulating in the west, and this trip is designed to allow influencers a firsthand look at the front line and frontline cities, and to leave with a good understanding of the Russian invasion and the people living it.

We do it because we want as many influencers as possible in the west to understand for themselves the situation on the ground in Ukraine.

We also do it to help Ukraine, and any profit realized from these trips will go to the Ukrainian Development Foundation to help the Ukrainian war effort with things like medical supplies and food, and to rebuild Ukraine when the guns fall silent.
